A Palm Beach mansion has changed hands for $30 million, selling at a discount of roughly one-third off its initial asking price as home sales in the area gain momentum.
The property at 5 Via Sunny, which includes eight bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms spread between the main residence and a separate guest house, was sold by a trust to 5 Via Sunny LLC. Both the trust and the LLC are registered through law firms, keeping the identities of the actual buyers and sellers confidential.
The estate covers approximately 8,400 square feet on a 1-acre lot, equating to $3,571 per square foot.
The home features an elevator, a swimming pool, and a four-car garage. The primary house contains six bedrooms, while the remaining two bedrooms are located in the guest house.
The transaction represents a 152 percent increase from the property’s previous sale at $11.9 million in 2007. However, the $30 million final price is about 33 percent lower than the nearly $45 million the seller originally sought when the home was listed in April 2024. After a series of price reductions, the last asking price before the sale was around $33 million.
Christian Angle of Christian Angle Real Estate represented the listing, while Laura Pope of Sotheby’s International Realty brought the buyer. Angle did not immediately respond to a request for comment, and Pope declined to comment.
Throughout Palm Beach County, contracts for luxury homes have been on the rise since the Thanksgiving holiday. The highest-priced property to go under contract recently was a 23,000-square-foot mansion at 118 Bears Club Drive in Jupiter, with an asking price of $44 million. That home includes seven bedrooms and nine and a half baths on a 3-acre lot. In Palm Beach itself, this season’s most expensive new listing is an oceanfront estate at 1491 North Ocean Boulevard. Formerly owned by Aldo Gucci, son of Guccio Gucci, the 14,500-square-foot property is on the market for $205 million—about $14,138 per square foot. Christian Angle also holds that listing.
