One Sotheby’s Relaunches Sports and Entertainment Division

One Sotheby’s International Realty has relaunched its sports and entertainment division.

The Coconut Grove-based brokerage, headed by Daniel and Mayi de la Vega, has appointed Chris Anthony as managing director of the division. According to Anthony, the group is dedicated to offering concierge-level services tailored to athletes, celebrities, and other high-profile clients. Anthony also serves as senior vice president for the firm’s northern division.

Daniel de la Vega, president of One Sotheby’s, explained that Anthony approached him with the idea to revive the division in a sustainable manner.

“These sports and entertainment divisions often come to market but tend to lose momentum,” de la Vega said. One Sotheby’s initially launched the division in 2014, led by Ben Moss, who now works at Compass.

Participation in the division requires agents to apply and meet specific qualifications, including a minimum sales volume and prior experience working with athletes or entertainers. Among the agents in the division are: Kimberly Knausz, Benjamin Westby, Brian Moorman, Michael Martinez, Anna Sherrill, Jeff Miller, Madison Collum, Eddy Martinez, and Roland Ortiz.

Anthony, whose nephew is Boston Red Sox outfielder Roman Anthony, emphasized that the team’s focus will be on maintaining client discretion and delivering comprehensive, high-touch “white glove” services.

“Our clients are accustomed to a high level of service. Their main focus is excelling at their own professions, and we are here to support the rest,” Anthony said.

Recently, One Sotheby’s agents have represented several notable deals involving athletes and celebrities. Martinez and Roland were part of the $50 million sale of a waterfront mansion in Coral Gables to The Weeknd. Knausz represented Rick Ross in his $35 million purchase of a waterfront Star Island home in Miami Beach. Additionally, the $10.6 million sale of Boston Red Sox legend David “Big Papi” Ortiz’s Pinecrest residence involved Martinez and One Sotheby’s agent Dennis Carvajal.

“It’s not necessarily a surge in the number of transactions,” de la Vega noted. “Rather, we’re experiencing increased demand for higher-priced real estate.”

One Sotheby’s, already partnered with the Miami Heat, is also in discussions with another major Florida sports franchise.

Additional agents in the division include: Mark Nestler, John Poletto, Veroushka Volkert, Karen Elmir, Julian Calderin, Michael Raben, John Richardson, Mary Dellenbach, Sandra Tagliamonte, Brigitte Lina, Alina Schwartz, Stephanie Moss Dandridge, Banna Fakhoury, Jackie Feldman, Laura Roxana Garcia, Carla Christenson, Jessica Fernandez, Isaac Malagon, and Lara Goodwin.

Recently, Volkert listed the waterfront home of newly retired soccer star Sergio Busquets of Inter Miami. Busquets is seeking to sell his property near Fort Lauderdale for $9.8 million.
