MYKA | Miami Beach
Greek yogurt ice cream shop MYKA is making its U.S. debut at Robert Rivani’s Lincoln Theatre building in Miami Beach.
Set to open a 550-square-foot location on December 8 at Lincoln Theatre, the announcement comes via a news release from Rivani’s firm. MYKA, established in Madrid by Natalia Morales and Javier Ezquerro, currently operates in 16 countries across Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America.
Rivani, who is based in Miami Beach, acquired the Art Deco Lincoln Theatre building—formerly a theater and now anchored by H&M at 551 Lincoln Road—for $37 million in August.
After relocating his firm’s headquarters from Los Angeles to Miami Beach in 2022, Rivani has continued to invest in and renovate properties in the area.
PLBY Group, the parent company of Playboy, is also moving its headquarters from Los Angeles to Rivani’s office property at 1691 Michigan Avenue. The building, branded as The Rivani and designated Class X, is currently being renovated to reflect its premium status.
In addition, The h.wood Group is collaborating with Rivani to launch a Tokyo-inspired speakeasy at The Rivani.
Epic Stoneworks | Opa-locka
Stone supplier Epic Stoneworks is relocating its Miami-Dade County industrial facility to Opa-locka.
The company has signed a lease for the entire 2.4-acre industrial outdoor property at 12705 Cairo Lane, which includes a 3,000-square-foot office and a 5,500-square-foot warehouse, according to a release from the tenant’s broker.
Epic Stoneworks, which operates its own quarry in addition to sourcing stone from other locations, plans to move in the first quarter from its current address at 10605 Southwest 186th Street in the West Perrine area of south Miami-Dade.
Matthew Rotolante and Conner Milford of Lee & Associates South Florida represented the tenant in the lease transaction.
The Opa-locka property is owned by KC Realty, managed by Jose Carrero of Aventura and Nathan Kestenman.
This new lease represents a significant expansion for Epic Stoneworks, whose current West Perrine facility consists of a 5,000-square-foot warehouse on 0.6 acres, according to public records.
Family First Life, Poliakoff Backer, more | Boca Raton
CDS Realty Investments’ Peninsula Plaza office complex has secured four new tenants.
The largest lease is for insurance marketing company and brokerage Family First Life, which is taking 6,500 square feet at 2424 North Federal Highway in Boca Raton, according to a release from the landlord’s broker.
Law firm Poliakoff Backer and Austin-based independent registered investment adviser Echelon Financial each leased 5,400 square feet. In addition, an unnamed boutique brokerage specializing in group health insurance signed for 1,900 square feet.
Brady Titcomb of JLL represented the landlord in these deals.
Representatives for the tenants included George Casey of Total Real Estate Consultants for Family First Life; John Jaspert of CBRE for Poliakoff Backer; Jason Stagman of Stagman Commercial Real Estate Advisors for Echelon Financial; and Silvana Benitez of LRM Commercial Real Estate Advisors for the boutique insurance brokerage.
CDS Realty is affiliated with Carl DeSantis’ Delray Beach-based CDS International Holdings, a company with varied investments including Celsius Holdings, Tabañero hot sauce, and multiple South Florida office buildings.
CDS Realty acquired the four-story, 163,600-square-foot Peninsula Plaza in 2000 for $23.1 million, according to records.
Del Mar | Fort Lauderdale
Del Mar, a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant, has opened its first Southeast Florida location in Fort Lauderdale.
Columbus, Ohio-based Cameron Mitchell Restaurants, led by Cameron Mitchell, leased 17,000 square feet of combined indoor and outdoor dining space for Del Mar at the oceanfront Auberge Beach Residences & Spa, according to a release from the tenant. This is Del Mar’s largest restaurant to date and its first on the waterfront.
The Auberge condominium towers are located at 2200 North Ocean Boulevard.
Managed by general manager Travis Cusack and executive chef Mitch Brumels, the restaurant features four private dining rooms, a beachfront bar, a wine cellar, and a 5,000-square-foot outdoor terrace.
Del Mar also operates a location in Naples, Florida, and is planning to open a new 12,000-square-foot restaurant in downtown West Palm Beach’s Nora District early next year, according to the restaurant’s website and Nora’s developers.
Additionally, Del Mar has a restaurant in Columbus, Ohio.
The Coffee | Miami
The Coffee, a Brazilian specialty coffee brand, will open its first U.S. café in Miami’s Wynwood district.
The company has leased 1,700 square feet at the Wynd27 apartment building, with seating for 42 guests, according to a release from the tenant. The new café is expected to open Wednesday at 136 Northwest 27th Street.
Founded in 2018 and led by CEO Carlos Fertonani, The Coffee has expanded into nearly 25 countries across Asia, Europe, and Latin America and is recognized for its Japanese-inspired minimalist design.
Wynd27 was developed by New York-based Kushner Companies and the Miculitzki family’s Block Capital Group of Wynwood, as part of a two-building multifamily project that also includes Wynd28. Wynd27 is one of their latest developments in the area.
